In his role as Chief People Officer, Sanjeev Sahgal leads human capital work across Mercy Corps; he holds a strong belief that people are the most important asset for any organization and works to create an environment where everyone can reach their highest potential.
Sanjeev has worked with public and private organizations in global roles. Prior to joining Mercy Corps, Sanjeev worked as Director, Human Resources with World Bank Group in Washington, D.C. He set up their Global HR Shared Services capability and was their Head of HR Strategy and Agile HR in his most recent role. Previously, Sanjeev spent nearly four years as the head of HR Strategy and Operations for Target India and has worked for GE, Genpact, and Motorola in roles across sales, operations, and HR.
Sanjeev is a certified Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile practitioner, and has completed his Oxford Impact Investing Executive course. Sanjeev serves as an active volunteer and is a contributor with industry think tanks such as the Society for Human Resource Management, HR Exchange Network, and Shared Services Organizations Network.
Sanjeev holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from Xavier School of Management, an MBA in Marketing from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, and a Bachelor of Science in Electronics from Osmania University.
