For the sixth year, the Mercy Corps Action Center with Portland State University welcomes student leaders from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to study conflict resolution, leadership, democratic systems, and project management. During their time at Mercy Corps, they build their understanding of the necessary steps and tools for effective project design, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The eighteen students who are participants of the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) Student Leader state department program have all demonstrated their desire for positive civic change and are an incredible group of people!
On August 3rd from 2:00 pm-5:00 pm at the Mercy Corps Action Center, the students will be presenting the issues they hope to impact in their community and their vision for positive change. Each student will have 5 minutes to present (though there will be no time for questions). Join us!
Students are from Tunisia, Libya, Algeria, Morocco, Bahrain, Saudia Arabia, Lebanon, Qatar, Israel, Gaza, Jordan, and Iraq.
