Program Manager - Climate Resilience and Policy Advocacy

Shorouq Aburazzouq is a development professional and civil engineer by training, driven by a commitment to advancing climate resilience through locally led action. Her journey with Mercy Corps began in a technical coordination role, where she oversaw infrastructure projects and worked hand-in-hand with communities, local authorities, and partners across Jordan. Over time, she stepped into leadership positions, reflecting her ability to navigate complex systems and deliver impact at scale.

Today, Shorouq serves as Program Manager for a flagship multi-donor climate resilience initiative under the Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance. In this role, she leads efforts to support vulnerable communities in adapting to the compounding risks of floods, heatwaves, and water scarcity, bridging national climate policy with local realities.

Her work brings together government institutions, civil society, and the private sector to co-create scalable climate-smart solutions. With a focus on systems strengthening, innovation and action. Shorouq also contributes to global and regional platforms amplifying Jordan’s voice in advancing inclusive and practical adaptation strategies.

At the heart of Shorouq’s approach is a belief that real change begins at the local level. Her career reflects a consistent dedication to empowering communities to build their own resilience in the face of a changing climate.
