Sami is just one of nearly four million Syrian refugees who are struggling to create new lives far from home. When he first arrived at Jordan's Zaatari refugee camp, he was lonely and didn't have anything to do with his time. He was a student in Syria, but when the war hit, he had to leave his home, his studies and his dreams for the future behind.
Through volunteer work at one of Mercy Corps' youth centers, Sami has turned his experience around. Now, he has renewed hope and a sense of purpose. He is proud to be helping young men and boys in the camp now, and he plans to use his skills to help rebuild his country in the future.
