Request for Proposal – Programs Organization Redesign

Background:

***Submission Date For Proposals Updated to January 31st***

Mercy Corps’ new 10-year strategy – Pathway to Possibility – is our guide to a future in which everyone can prosper (for more information please visit https://www.mercycorps.org/pathway). It reflects our ambitions to not only meet the basic needs of communities affected by conflict and climate change, but also to achieve lasting, transformative change at scale.  The Program Department operates at the heart of the agency, supporting Mercy Corps’ mission and working with program impact, innovation, and influence at its core. The Program teams directly implement or support the implementation of those activities designed to help create more secure, productive, and just communities - we aspire to bring about transformational change in the world’s most complex environments.

The Program Department, which comprises various country programs, is grouped under four regions: Africa, Middle East, Americas, and Asia. It also includes the Program Performance and Quality Team, Technical Support Unit, New Initiatives, Humanitarian Leadership and Response, Research and Learning, and Program Support Functions. These teams are guided by the strategy and work in close partnership with all other agency departments to deliver high-quality, impactful programming.

The Mercy Corps Executive Leadership team is undertaking a review of our Program Department structure to find efficiencies and optimize the delivery of the Pathway to Possibility.  This work will connect with the broader change management initiative and the Mercy Corps organization restructure work led by the Strategic Realization Unit.

As a part of this effort Mercy Corps will constitute a steering committee, and an advisory group of relevant stakeholders to explore organization design options. Mercy Corps is looking for an experienced consultant/consulting firm to support this work and define a new Programs Department structure.
