Mercy Corps Welcomes Two New Board Members
Mercy Corps is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors. The Board plays a vital role in ensuring the global organization remains true to its mission, providing strategic oversight, strong governance, and guidance as Mercy Corps tackles some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
“As our sector navigates a time of profound transformation—driven by new technologies, monumental shifts in the funding landscape, shifting power dynamics, and increasing humanitarian needs—we’re thrilled to welcome Capricia and Mihir to our Board,” said Tjada D’Oyen McKenna, Chief Executive Officer of Mercy Corps. “Their diverse experiences and forward-looking perspectives will strengthen our ability to adapt, innovate, and drive meaningful impact where it’s needed most.”
Joining Mercy Corps’ Global Boards of Directors:
- Capricia Marshall is an American diplomat and public servant. From 2009 to 2013, she was Chief of Protocol of the United States, bearing the rank of Ambassador and setting the stage for diplomacy at the highest levels. In this capacity, she worked to leverage U.S. relationships with foreign governments and develop strategies to transform global engagement. From 1997 to 2001, Ms. Marshall served as Deputy Assistant to the President and White House Social Secretary. From 1993 to 1997, she was Special Assistant to the First Lady of the United States, Hillary Rodham Clinton. In addition to a bachelor's degree in political science from Purdue University, Ms. Marshall holds a Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
- Mihir Mysore is a partner at McKinsey & Company, where he leads the firm’s global Crisis Response and Resilience service lines. As one of McKinsey’s foremost crisis practitioners, he has helped major organizations manage operational risk, stabilize crisis situations, and build resilience. Since founding McKinsey’s Crisis Response and Resilience practices, Mr. Mysore has served organizations through more than 60 major crises and disruptions across the public and private sectors. He also convenes McKinsey’s Crisis Advisory Board. Mr. Mysore holds bachelor's and master's degrees in technology from the Indian Institute of Technology and a Master of Science from Stanford University.
