Crisis Analysis Team

Analytical tools and services to inform crisis responses
The Crisis Analysis Team combine traditional research methods with powerful data science tools to help organizations navigate complex, high-risk environments impacted by climate change and conflict. Through trend monitoring, risk forecasting and deep-dive thematic analysis, we help ensure that donor investments create measurable, sustainable impact through coordinated and context-sensitive interventions – even in the most challenging operational environments. We have implemented the Crisis Analysis approach in more than 20 fragile and conflict-affected countries, through a team of more than 60 analysts, data scientists, and subject-matter experts.
Our analysis is grounded in local contexts and conflicts, helping humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding actors design solutions to better equip communities facing complex crises. As a part of Mercy Corps, we combine independent analysis with direct programmatic experience, allowing us to provide actionable and targeted messages that strengthen sector-wide responses.

“The briefings and products of the HAT [Libya Crisis Analysis Team] are first-rate. The insight shared is difficult to obtain elsewhere, given the complexity of Libya, its fragmentation, and mass disinformation campaigns. The HAT puts it into perspective.“ – Donor, Government Embassy

“The analytical support provided by LCAT [Lebanon Crisis Analysis Team] in the risk monitoring exercise since its inception in late 2022 has been very useful. With the buy-in of the Humanitarian Country Team [HCT], the exercise produced a first report on key risks and how they were developing over time to keep the HCT and sectors informed in their emergency preparedness and response efforts.” – United Nations OCHA
