After two years, Gaza’s entire population is on the edge of survival.
A recent U.N. report found that a “worst-case scenario of famine” is unfolding across the Gaza Strip. An Israeli ground offensive and mass evacuation orders have displaced hundreds of thousands of people from Gaza City. And the ongoing lack of access to aid has left families without the food, medicine, and other necessities they desperately need.
Since October 2023, Mercy Corps has reached more than 371,000 people with emergency items — food baskets, hygiene, water and shelter kits — and more than 33,355 families with emergency cash assistance. And since June 2025, we’ve provided safe drinking water to more than 4,500 displaced people.
But the reality is that the scale of need far exceeds the amount of aid that can reach Palestinians in Gaza. We’re ready to scale up our support as soon as conditions permit.
