Somalia
Families have fled their homes and lands in search of relief from drought and hunger. Mercy Corps is providing food, water, and supporting agricultural activities to increase farm production and improve the ability of communities to handle shocks like ongoing drought.

People in Somalia are facing the harshest drought in 40 years, a devastating reality of climate change. The drought adds to the complex challenges facing the country, including conflict and economic hardship exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

About 6 million people are going hungry. Nearly 3 million people have been displaced because of conflict. Millions are living in improvised shelters with no access to food, water, or basic sanitation.

Will you join our commitment to ending the hunger crisis in Somalia? Mercy Corps is on the ground providing cash and food to those most affected by this crisis. We are also delivering water to remote villages through emergency water trucking to support people and livestock.

Beyond addressing the immediate crisis, Mercy Corps is addressing the underlying issues that will help communities recover and withstand future shocks. Sign the pledge and join our community of humanitarians that agree: we must end the hunger crisis in Somalia.
