Indonesia Emergency Response

Mercy Corps Indonesia staff distribute food and supplies following the Sulawesi earthquake in September.

A powerful tsunami struck the Sunda Strait, Indonesia on 22 December. More than 430 people are reported dead and hundreds more are injured or missing. Nearly 27,000 people have had to leave their homes and need food, water and shelter. This is the latest in a series of natural disasters that have struck the region. Mercy Corps Indonesia is responding to help those in hard-hit areas.

Our team is bringing rice and clean water to those in dire need of support. We will begin distributing tarps, blankets, kitchen essentials and other supplies for those who have fled their homes and have nothing.

We are currently responding to urgent humanitarian needs in more than 40 countries around the globe, including Indonesia, Guatemala, Somalia, Yemen and beyond. Give now to help our teams around the world and provide a lifeline for people during their most desperate time of need.

Our ability to respond to crises around the world with speed and effectiveness depends on your support.
