Mercy Corps is proudly supporting Team Rubicon, a U.S. disaster response organization on the ground in Houston to help Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Six Team Rubicon water rescue teams have conducted more than 50 floodwater rescues so far, and hundreds of Team Rubicon veteran and civilian volunteers are expected to deploy to the region.

We also have members of our emergency response team in Texas to see how Mercy Corps’ experience as a leading global emergency responder can best support other local organizations in the area. As floodwaters recede and recovery efforts begin, we expect to support local organizations helping vulnerable and under-served populations in Houston.

Mercy Corps responds to natural disasters and dire crises around the world, delivering rapid, lifesaving assistance to meet urgent needs and help people recover. While our work takes place overseas, in the most extreme cases, such as after Hurricane Katrina, we respond to disasters in the United States.
