In Niger, cycles of drought and hunger are a harsh reality. Here, a family works on a well that Mercy Corps helped them rebuild. It provides not only drinking water but irrigation for their community garden — a project that our teams spearheaded after a food crisis in 2010, and is proving life-saving as hunger again threatens millions.

Mercy Corps is responding to urgent needs by also providing cash distribution and supporting nutritional screening centers that help malnourished children receive assistance.
