Message from Bill Metzker

Few events have moved me more deeply than than the looks of desperation on the faces of Syrian children, women, and men fleeing the violence and destruction of the civil war in their country. The devastating photo of the little boy washed up on the beach in Turkey is emblematic of the largest humanitarian catastrophe in my lifetime.

I've been a supporter of Mercy Corps for years, and I'm grateful for the platform it's providing to help me do what little I can to help the Syrian refugees. Will you join me? Any amount will do. If you want to combine a gift with friends, family members, workplace, or whatever, that would be terrific.

With our help, Mercy Corps is distributing food & supplies, building new wells and water distribution systems, providing activities and counseling to help children feel safe again, and helping to prevent conflict over limited resources. They have been assisting families in camps and host communities in neighboring countries since August 2012. And they'll be there until families can return to their homes.

Every dollar we contribute makes a powerful difference in the lives of these courageous people. Now, and for the future.

• $10 will provide a month's supply of clean water
• $15 will provide three blankets
• $42 will provide a welcome kit with mattress and bedding
• $70 will enroll a child in our Comfort for Kids program
• $100 will provide a school uniform and books

They have been assisting families in camps and host communities in neighboring countries since August 2012. In addition to helping refugees who have lost everything get the basics they need, Mercy Corps is building new wells and water distribution systems, providing activities and counseling to help children feel safe again, and helping to prevent conflict over limited resources. And they'll be there until families can return home.

I hope you'll join me in support of this important work. Together, we can help families survive this terrible crisis.

Thank you!
