The first Headless Horsemen benefit ride for Mercy Corps - from West Seattle to Ocean Shores, weather permitting - will take place Saturday, August 28th, 2010.
Led by famed Seattle rock/country radio DJ Ichabod Caine and Mercy Corps founder Dan O'Neill, the Headless Horsemen are challenging friends and sponsors to support each rider by making a donation to Mercy Corps to support their lifesaving assistance around the world.
Northender and mid-sounder riders will meet 7:30 a.m. at Endolyne Joe's at 9261 45th Ave. SW in Seattle. They'll then hop the Fauntleroy Ferry, sailing at 8:35am. They'll then ferry and ride to Belfair, and on to Shelton and Ocean Shores. Locals, come see them off!
For the southenders and anyone else that just wants to ride around, meet at 10:15 a.m. in Shelton at the Chevron Station, 1730 Olympic Hwy S. (on the corner of Olympic Hwy S/SE Arcadia Rd.). The northenders will arrive at this location by approximately 10:30am. Lunch is planned for 1:00 or 1:30 at the Shilo Inn in Ocean Shores.
To many of us, motorcycling is a passion — getting out from behind the desk, off the computer, off the phone and ripping through twisty two-lane country roads, rumbling like rolling thunder through small towns with an occasional pit stop to sip coffee and tell tall tales. And this is another tall tale in the making! We are putting our passion to work, touching disadvantaged children and families with the gift of compassion and hope for the future.
