Sudan
Our strategy
Meet humanitarian needs, bolster early recovery and boost livelihoods for families affected by conflict in Darfur and border areas with South Sudan.
The context
The separation of South Sudan in 2011, though resolving years of civil war, continues to pit Sudan against its new neighbor. Sudan is marked now by 20 percent inflation, a shrinking economy, student protests and several simultaneous rebellions — in Darfur, the Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile State — as well as stiff America sanctions and genocide charges related to Darfur.
Our work
- Agriculture & Food: Increasing food security of displaced families
- Conflict & Governance: Improving war-affected and marginalised communities' capacity to support local economic development and poverty alleviation
- Water: Drilling, repairing and maintaining water points
