We believe that it is our duty to be effective stewards of the financial resources entrusted to us.
Accountability is one of Mercy Corps' core values and has been one of the agency's foremost priorities over its quarter-century of humanitarian service. We strive to ensure that the resources entrusted to us by donors are used wisely for the improvement of communities and lives.
Private donations from individuals, foundations, civic organizations and businesses fuel Mercy Corps' emergency responses. These donations often give us a ready reserve to react to emergencies within hours, allowing us to deliver rapid, critical relief to families in need.
A donation to Mercy Corps is a sound investment: over the last five years, more than 90 percent of every dollar donated to Mercy Corps has been allocated to programs that help people in need. That efficiency has earned us a top-tier "four-star" rating from Charity Navigator, one of the top independent evaluators of non-profit organizations.
This accountability report explores four diverse programs funded by private donations. The stories come from vastly different regions, cultures and situations, but share one thing in common: private donations creating inspiring, lasting success.
