A strong civil society structure is essential to the success of any community. As a community focused and field driven organization, Mercy Corps recognizes the importance of local, community groups and is committed to working with and through local partners in any program.

Experience has shown Mercy Corps that with local community involvement, the positive effects of programs will last long into the future as local capacity to address it's needs after programs are complete is strengthen.
