Intern will work with Mercy Corps’ legal team at its global headquarters in Portland during the summer of 2011
PORTLAND, Ore. – For the fourth year in a row, Perkins Coie LLP has generously agreed to sponsor a legal intern to work at Mercy Corps’ headquarters in Portland, Oregon. This position will help support work on legal issues in the US, and in many of Mercy Corps’ overseas operations.
“Mercy Corps greatly appreciates the support of Perkins Coie for our legal intern program,” said Mercy Corps General Counsel Barnes Ellis. “Not only will Mercy Corps have the benefit of an outstanding law student this summer, but we hope the experience will encourage promising law students to consider a career in international relief and development work.”
In addition to working with the Mercy Corps' legal team, the Perkins Coie-sponsored law student intern will gain valuable experience within the Chinese non-profit sector when Mercy Corps hosts the All-China Youth Federation in June 2011. This internship strives to further develop the selected participant’s knowledge and skills in non-profit law and management, as well as provide a unique perspective of the international laws and policies that shape Mercy Corps' various local projects.
