Portland Opera to host Haiti benefit concert tonight

Portland Opera will host a benefit concert tonight, and half of the proceeds will go toward Mercy Corps' relief effort in Haiti.
Visiting artists from the coming show "Cosi fan tutti" will perform their favorite arias from a variety of operas at the Scottish Rite Center, 709 S.W. 15th Ave.
The show starts at 7 p.m., and tickets range from $10 to $50.

Concert for Haitian Earthquake Relief
Who: Rogue Suspects with Jeff Pevar and Inger Jorgensen; Bohemian Soul featuring Cornflower; One Horse Shy; Salsa Brava; Frankie Hernandez Band; Alice DiMicele; Bret Levick; Ed Dunsavage; Smokey Red; Annie McIntyre; author Gary Zukav ("Seat of the Soul"); Nikita Gearing; and Dancing People Company.
When: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday
Where: Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St. in Ashland
Entry: $10 to $20, all proceeds go to the Red Cross' Haiti relief fund.

Who: Pianist Thomas Lauderdale; hip-hop artist Cool Nutz; Portland Cello Project and singer Storm Large; Oregon Symphony concertmaster Jun Iwasaki with pianist Grace Fong-Iwasaki; Broadway veteran baritone Douglas Webster (Les Miserables); singer-songwriter Holcombe Waller; and local choral ensembles Flash Choir, PHAME Academy Choir and the Grant High School Royal Blues

Weekend for Haiti
Who: hosted by The EastBurn, with musical performances Friday by Megafauna and Saturday by Chris Boone & The Bruce Lees
When: Thursday through Sunday, with musical performances starting at 10 p.m.
Where: The EastBurn, 1800 E. Burnside St.
Entry: Free, with proceeds from select drinks going to Mercy Corps; The Gold Door will be selling raffle tickets for jewelry, and proceeds will also go to Mercy Corps; donations are also encouraged
