New Seasons Market is collecting and then matching donations to Mercy Corps, a Portland-based international relief agency, to help survivors of the Jan. 12 earthquake that devastated the Haitian city of Port-au-Prince.

The Portland Metro area stores will collectively match contributions up to $20,000. Mercy Corps will use donations to provide immediate humanitarian relief, help with clean water supplies, offer trauma support for children and provide long-term job creation to help people rebuild their lives.

New Seasons Market originally set a goal of matching $10,000 in donations, which was quickly met due to the generosity and compassion of the community.

Donations can be made at store registers (no purchase is required) at all nine New Seasons Markets and at Hillsboro/Beaverton area Store are listed below:

Cedar Hills Crossing, 3495 Cedar Hills Blvd, Beaverton

Orenco Station, 1453 NE 61st Ave., Hillsboro
