Action Center Event Space

Located in Mercy Corps Headquarters, next to Portland Saturday Market and the historic Skidmore Fountain, the Portland Action Center has rental space available to host your next special event. Whether it’s a corporate strategic planning session, a non-profit fundraiser, a networking evening with cocktails or somewhere in between, our venue can accommodate a variety of needs with space flexibility and state-of-the art technology.

Our rentable spaces include the following:

• Aceh Community Room: The relief efforts Mercy Corps supplied in 2004 when a tsunami hit Aceh, Indonesia defined our agency. To honor those efforts, the 2,200-square-foot community room was named after Aceh. With an open floor plan, the room can accommodate receptions or theater or classroom seating from 20 to 200 people.
• Pre-Function: 1,425-square-foot area outside of the Aceh Community Room, it is most often used as a pre-event gathering space.
• Gallery: This 984-square-foot area often serves as buffet or auction area.
• Action Center: The 3,484 sq. ft in the Action Center is devoted to multi-media exhibits that provide real world hubs for activism, where visitors can deepen their understanding of how issues like climate change, conflict and land rights contribute to the cycle of hunger and poverty in the developing world. Event guests can use this space to enjoy food and drinks while gaining knowledge about important topical information.

Event rentals come with the following equipment, as available: lighting, sound system, InFocus projector, presentation screen, nineteen (19) 2’ x 6’ tables and approx. 200 chairs.

Audio/Video: All rentals come with full use of rented space’s permanent equipment, including sound system with wireless microphones, hearing assisted devices, conference call connectivity, and InFocus projector.

Catering: The venue allows for all typed of insured outside caterers to serve food/beverages and use its small kitchen prep space. Alcohol is allowed with server with OLCC or TIPS certification.
