The Phoenix Fund Advisory Committee is comprised of successful businesspeople with extensive experience in economic development and business. They provide strategic direction and hands-on help as appropriate.
Mike Maerz
Mike Maerz, Portland, Oregon, has served in key roles at a number of leading Oregon technology companies, most notably as Vice President and General Manager of Internet Products Division and Network Products Division at Intel Corporation. He is also a co-founder and former CEO of etrieve, Inc. and former President and CEO of The Palace, Inc. Mike currently serves on the Mercy Corps Board of Directors and a couple high technology startup boards.
Tom Keffer
Tom Keffer received a B.A. in Biology and Physics from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography from Oregon State University. He worked at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution as a member of their faculty and then was on the faculty of the University of Washington.
In 1989 he co-founded Rogue Wave Software, Inc, in Corvallis, Oregon, becoming its Chairman, President, and CEO. He retired as CEO in 1998, having grown the company to nearly 300 employees and revenues of over $44M. He is the author of thirteen refereed publications in journals such as Science, Nature, and the Journal of Marine Research. In 1997 he won the Oregon Technology Entrepreneur of the Year award.

David Mahoney
David Mahoney, San Francisco, California is a private equity investor and the former Co-CEO of McKesson HBOC and CEO of iMcKesson LLC. He serves on the boards of Symantec, Inc. and Corcept Therapeutics as well as the boards of the SFMOMA, Live Oak School and NCPB, Inc. He has a bachelor's degree from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the Mercy Corps Board of Directors.
Tom Bruggere
Tom Bruggere is the Founder and former Chairman/CEO of Mentor Graphics Corporation. Prior to founding Mentor Graphics, Bruggere held management and engineering positions at Tektronix and Burroughs Corp.
Tom was the founding Chairman of Stamps.com, the founding Chairman of Sensoria Corp., and has served on the Boards of biotech company Sirigen, internet commerce company Open Market, animation company Will Vinton Studios and other private companies. He is currently CEO of 13Therapeutics, a biotech spinout from the Oregon Health Sciences University.
Lucinda Stewart
Lucinda is a managing director at OVP Venture Partners. Prior to joining OVP, Lucinda was part of the start-up team of a Welch, Carson, Anderson & Stowe-backed services company, National Surgery Centers (NSC). During her tenure at NSC, the company became the largest independent owner and operator of surgery centers, went public and subsequently sold to HealthSouth for $590 million. After NSC, Lucinda joined the investment banking division at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in New York where she worked closely with software and services companies. In 1999 she entered the venture business at Frazier Healthcare and focused on services and software investments.
