The Swat Valley of Pakistan, where millions are currently displaced by unusually powerful floods, is the ancestral home of many of the Tantric Yoga traditions we teach and practice... Swat is the location of Oddiyana (Uddiyana), origin of Padmasambhava, Kashmir Saivism, many of the great Sufi mystics, many of the great Mahasiddhas of both Hindu and Buddhist Tantra, and Swat is even thought by some to have been the spiritual training ground of Yeshua (Jesus's) adolescence. In short, it is one of the great birthplaces of the meditative and mystical traditions of the world.

MercyCorps is one of the most effective on-the-ground organizations worldwide for getting relief to the individuals who most need it, and rapidly transforming calamity, sickness, and suffering into survivable, healthy, sane, even loving conditions. You may have heard about the deadly floods in Pakistan that have affected nearly 14 million people

Mercy Corps has staff on the ground working to provide clean water to 20,000 people, and staple foods and clean-up tools to hundreds of affected families.

Many of these families were already struggling to meet their basic needs. Mercy Corps has been helping families in Pakistan's flood-affected Swat Valley reestablish themselves after they fled last year's fighting between militants and government forces. Many of the 3 million people displaced by that conflict had returned, but are now fighting to survive this latest disaster.
