As I'm sure most of you know, the region of East Africa has been devastated by a drought affecting over 12 million people. Somalia, Ethiopia, and Kenya are facing a severe food crisis. This is the first time in nearly 30 years that the United Nations has declared a state of famine. Well over tens of thousands have already died and full recovery is not expected until 2012.
I know that this is a difficult financial time for everyone, but I urge you to help. Sometimes the thought of helping everyone is so overwhelming that we end up doing nothing at all. I always loved this quote below. It pushed me to overcome that excuse and try.
"I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do." ~Edward Everett Hale
A little goes a long way. Some ideas of where the donation could come from:
$5 = Forego a Starbucks drink for a day & make coffee at home!
$10 = Forego lunch out for a day & pack one at home!
The options are endless!
I'm grateful for your time.
Wishing you peace,
