"I Wonder How an Island Feels," is dedicated to the people of Haiti.
A magnitude 7.0 earthquake on January 12, 2010 killed over 200,000 and left 3 million more affected and in desperate need. Since then, lack of clean drinking water and other needed supplies has led to an outbreak of cholera which has killed hundreds more. There are mounting fears that the disease could spread rapidly through the overcrowded tent camps housing earthquake survivors in Port-au-Prince.
Mercy Corps is installing water purifiers, distributing soap and running a public information campaign about how to prevent and treat the disease. Their work in helping to expand access to clean drinking water and ensuring safe sanitation options is now even more vital than ever before.
Your donation supports Mercy Corps' work in Haiti, which includes a robust response to help contain cholera's spread. Please donate today.
