Poverty exists in our world, what can we do to help alleviate poverty throughout the world? This campaign is an effort to touch the lives of our friends in Africa, the birth place of humanity.
Message from Mercy Corps
The worst drought in 60 years hit the Horn of Africa in 2011. Mercy Corps has helped 1.6 million people in Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia survive the crisis with emergency food, water, cash and mobile health care.
But more than 8 million people still remain at risk. We are working to help people withstand this and future cycles of drought and famine — helping communities expand water supplies, restoring farmers' lost livestock, helping displaced families return to their homes, and training people to grow more food for the future.
