To our family, friends and colleagues:

We invite you to join us in raising money for Mercy Corps' response to the Haiti earthquake. Mercy Corps, the international aid and development organization that Colleen works for, has recently deployed an eight-member team of French-speaking emergency response experts to assist survivors in Haiti.

Mercy Corps' initial Haiti response is focused on getting people access to clean water and other priority needs.

One of Mercy Corps' strengths is the fact that it supports disaster survivors for the long-term. Mercy Corps intends to stay in Haiti for some time, to help communities transition from relief to recovery. Mercy Corps' longer-term response will likely provide emotional support to traumatized children (our "Comfort for Kids" program), and Cash-for-Work programming, in which survivors are paid a living wage to help build back their community.

For information about Cash-for Work: http://www.mercycorps.org/learn/whatwedo/14204

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about Mercy Corps' work in Haiti, or about Mercy Corps in general.

Our initial goal is to raise $2,500 for Haiti through this site, as quickly as possible. All donations to Mercy Corps are tax-deductible, and you will receive a receipt.

Thank you for your support!

Best regards,

Jay and Colleen
