Message from First Congregational Church
On Sunday nights some of the senior high youth have been meeting at my apartment as we study the book of James. The bulk of this epistle is a challenge to help those in need and to live out one's Christian faith. There have been some wonderful discussion as we've talked about the personal implications, especially with the crisis in Somalia rising.
A few youth decided we need to take action to help our brothers and sisters in Africa. We planned it out, and we are going to host a one-day fast to raise money to send to the refugee camp in Kenya that has over 350,000 Somalian refugees. The fast/lock-in will start on 6pm Thursday August 25th and end at 4pm on Friday the 26th (in time for all high school football games).
Please donate and support our fast as we go one day without food to help those who spend too many days in a war-torn place without anything to eat.
