Boeing and its workers are noted for their generosity, and their response to the Indian Ocean Tsunami was no exception.
Immediately following the disaster, the Chicago-based aerospace company committed $1 million to tsunami relief efforts, split among three humanitarian organizations including Mercy Corps. Boeing's employees pitched in a similarly generous amount in the critical first few days of tsunami response.
Boeing worked with Mercy Corps in 2004 to provide disaster-assistance funding for survivors of the Bam, Iran earthquake. The company recently allocated a generous sum to launch agricultural programs in northern Uganda that help war-displaced families establish family farms.
Especially in times of disaster, Boeing helps critical Mercy Corps programs get off the ground.
