Uniting with Compassion for Haiti's Recovery

Hello from Boulder, Colorado! Please take this seriously and not ignore the pain and suffering of the people in Haiti while you read this. I ask you today to help me raise money for the recovery of this devastating distaster near, Port-au-Prince Haiti.

As many know, a 7.0 earthquake struck just this past Tuesday, Jan. 12th. This event has left hundreds of thousands of families without homes, clothing, food, water, and the mere hope of finding their loved ones in the demolished buildings. Aftershocks are hindering efforts of recovering the survivors. Every dollar helps in this effort of saving and helping the people of Haiti and their families.

Today, I ask each and every one of you take look in the mirror and ask yourself, "What can I do"? 99% of us are not able to fly to Haiti and help in the recovery but each of us can take the $5 towards your coffee/latte from Starbucks, Panera, McDonalds, etc and donate it to help in the efforts of this distaster. Please take a stance in this and be able to say "We/I/You contributed" instead of "I could have".

Project summary

Just hours after a catastrophic earthquake struck Haiti — killing thousands and displacing up to two million people — Mercy Corps began deploying an experienced, field-tested emergency response team. Upon arriving in Port-au-Prince, we went immediately to work, talking with displaced survivors about what they needed most. We delivered 15 tons of food to the city's biggest hospital. We got clean water flowing again in medical clinics and shattered neighborhoods. We ensured a reliable income for survivors by creating a cash-for-work program, which also began revitalizing failing local economies. Today, our team is working with survivors, local authorities and partner organizations on long-term plans — including job creation — that will help Haiti rebuild better and stronger.
