Cupertino Electric raised $7,095 for Haiti Earthquake Recovery
Many have asked how they can help the victims of last week's devastating earthquake in Haiti. As most of you know, a 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck near Haiti's capital of Port-au-Prince Tuesday afternoon, collapsing buildings, including hospitals, schools and churches. The city is said to be "flattened," and as many as 100,000 are feared dead in the largest quake to strike the impoverished Caribbean nation in 200 years. Power is out, telecommunications are spotty and food and water are scarce. Without water, many of the survivors will perish.
For those who wish to send financial support to those in need in Haiti, the best way to do so is through an experienced, well respected organization like Mercy Corps. The first members of a Mercy Corps emergency response team are en route to help survivors. Follow the latest updates at mercycorps.org/haiti.
Thank you!
