KAP's fundraising page for Pakistan Flooding

We've already raised over $4000 for Swat Valley flood relief -
Please help us in reaching our next goal of $5000 for Mercy Corps!

KAP creator Dr. Glenn Morris spent the last few years of his life working diligently to improve the lives of those affected by both natural disaster and governmental mismanagement, by aligning his work, skills, and awareness-raising efforts with Non-Governmental Organizations providing aid and opportunity to those most affected.

In particular, Dr. Morris worked tirelessly with the Volunteers of America after Hurricane Katrina, often sacrificing his own health, sleep, diet, safety, and income, for the benefit of others.

To keep his compassion alive and active in the material world, we invite his friends, students, and practitioners of his system to help one of the most effective and responsible disaster relief organizations, MercyCorps, as they provide food, shelter, and clean water in areas devastated by disasters natural and man-made. We begin with a disaster that is estimated to be 20x more destructive than Katrina, the floods in the Swat Valley of Pakistan:

A Message from Mercy Corps:

The worst monsoon-related floods in living memory have deluged Pakistan since July. Large parts of the country have been devastated by unusually heavy rainfall, causing rivers to overflow their banks and flash floods in low-lying areas.

According to the UN, the floods have affected 20 million people, ravaged at least 62,000 square miles of land, wiped out 5 million acres of crops, damaged or destroyed almost 1.9 million homes, and left at least 10 million people without shelter.

Water levels have subsided or stabilized in most of the country, although new dam breaches and evacuations continue in Pakistan’s south.

The most urgent problems include lack of clean drinking water, food and shelter, and the threat of widespread disease outbreaks.

How Individual Donors Can Help

Every donation brings relief to the families affected by the epic flooding in Pakistan. For example:

* $10 provides a family with clean drinking water for two weeks.
* $30 provides a family with a two-week supply of cooking oil, rice, sugar and other staples.
*$70 provides a wheelbarrow, shovel, hammer and other tools to clear debris and repair homes.

Please help us raise money to help Mercy Corps aid families affected by the flooding. Thank you!

P.S. from the KAP instructors...

MercyCorps is one of the most effective on-the-ground organizations for getting relief to the individuals who most need it, and rapidly transforming calamity, sickness, and suffering into survivable, healthy, sane, even loving conditions.

Equally as important, they hold themselves accountable for the donations they receive,
constantly reporting everything they are doing to their patrons.

-- Thank you all for your generosity and let's do even more good--
Please join us in making our next goal of $9999 a reality!

Thank you for making this happen,
