Dear friends,
The recent floods in Pakistan have displaced nearly 20 million people, including 6 million children. Unfortunately, the international response has fallen short of the funds that are needed to address even immediate needs such as drinking water, food and shelter. So far, only $250 million has been pledged internationally, in contrast to nearly $3 billion for Haiti. The greatest reason for the low response is the lack of media coverage.
Mercy Corps has staff on the ground working to provide clean water to tens of thousands of people, and staple foods and clean-up tools to hundreds of affected families.
Please help me raise money to help Mercy Corps aid families affected by the flooding. Or, if you have your favorite international disaster agency that you like to to support, please consider making a donation towards this disaster.
Many thanks!
Tamima
