When hunger hits the most vulnerable – children, the elderly and pregnant women – what ought to be done? As part of a coalition of U.S. NGOs, Mercy Corps had a front row seat to the politics surrounding food relief in North Korea over the past two years.

Using North Korea as a case-study, Mercy Corps' Jim White and David Austin offer a revealing look at the complexity and challenges of providing basic relief - raising serious questions about the politics of food aid.

This is a lunchtime talk, taking place at the World Affairs Council.
