Afternoon Film Fundraiser - Portland Women Unite for World Change

Come and see a film that tells the story of the courageous Liberian women who, through nonviolent disobedience, ended a years' long bloody civil war.

At the movie, Pray the Devil Back to Hell, you can become informed about women's success in Liberia and hear Mercy Corps representatives discuss their One Table campaign and their Half the Sky Book Club program, in which Mercy Corps is partnering with Pulitzer Prize-winning authors, Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn to encourage people to read their new book, Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide . You and your friends can enjoy the afternoon out and find personal ways to take action to empower women, end human rights abuses and fight global hunger.
