100 Show
The 100 Show will feature – and offer for purchase at $100 a piece – hundreds of original works of art from local and worldwide artists, photographers, illustrators, painters and more. Never before have so many award-winning and recognized artists been exhibited together in Portland. $50 of every piece sold will be donated to Mercy Corps.
We expect to have nearly 800 original pieces available for purchase. Opening night of the show will be Feb. 2nd from 6:00 - 9:00pm with live music and libations, and it will run through Feb 24th.

Youth in the Arab World: The Reality of Change
What are the undercurrents of the protest movements in the Middle East and North Africa? Ahmed Younis is a Senior Analyst for the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies and the Abu Dhabi Gallup Center. As such, he has grasp of a vast inventory of statistics about the numbers, trends and opinions of young people across the Middle East and North Africa. Hear him speak at Mercy Corps on February 22.

In Portland on International Women’s Day and on the eve of an extended vacation, Mercy Corps’ Congo Country Director, Lorina McAdam, looks back on 13 years in international development, focusing on her most recent four in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Hear her personal and professional perspective of her experience, including an account of the role and fate of women in the Congo – considered the most dangerous country to be a woman.

An Evening with David Wolman - Inside Egypt’s Youth Movement, 2008-2012
Two and half years before there was anything called the “Arab Spring,” journalist David Wolman went to Cairo to write a feature story for Wired about tech-savvy dissidents protesting against the regime. Wolman returned to Egypt last March to research and write “The Instigators”: a definitive account of the revolution and the lead-up to it. Hear about his experience in Egypt, and a little about his new book, The End of Money, in which Wolman considers life in a cashless society.
