6:30 pm - 4:00 pm, July 25th to December 31st
The Dimes have gathered a solid following locally, and have made quite an impact with their latest release, “The Silent Generation.” Melodic sweet guitars over gorgeous voices and phenomenal, pastoral-nostalgic lyrics define The Dimes.
This year, SakeOne will donate 20% of ticket sales for its Outdoor Summer Concert Series to Mercy Corps. So you can benefit Mercy Corps as you enjoy sake, have fun with friends, and hear some of the Northwest's favorite bands on beautiful Northwest summer nights.
The hook-laden debut album from Portland quartet The Dimes is a moving meditation on hard times, delivered with a Death Cab for Cutie light touch. Each track, cooed by Johnny Clay in a high, sincere tenor, is a sad snapshot. Though they teeter on the maudlin, the Dimes employ an array of flutes, glockenspiels, melodicas, tambourines, and handclaps to lighten the mood.
The SakeOne Outdoor Summer Concert Series will take place every other Saturday, rain or shine, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. from June 27 through August 29 at 820 Elm Street, Forest Grove, Oregon.
Ticket prices vary, but The Dimes show on Saturday, July 25 costs $8 for general admission, and $6 for students, club members, and shareholders. Tickets can be bought on SakeOne's website or at the door.
