OVERVIEW

The Material Aid Department, sometimes referred to as Gifts-in-Kind, facilitates the donation and transportation of donated materials. It also provides logistical support and services internally as well as to other humanitarian organizations.

Last year the Material Aid Department provided more than $50 million worth of donated materials to more than 25 countries. Materials included: pharmaceuticals; durable medical goods; textbooks; building materials; and computers.

In times of emergency, items such as blankets and bedding supplies have meant a world of difference to displaced children and families.
