Uganda is recovering from almost 20 years of civil war between government forces and the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA). Ninety-five percent of the Pader district population was displaced by conflict between 2002 and 2007. Many individuals who left refugee camps are still living in transit camps prior to returning to their home villages. Mercy Corps is working to develop programs in these camps to help heal the wounds created by this conflict.
