Hassan, 20: “Facebook has become a network of unstopping instant news. I know everything that happens in Gaza before they even show it on TV.

“Due to continuous bombings all around my neighborhood, I can't even go to the market ten feet away from my house. For the past 3 days all I did was sit in my room while missile after missile shook the entire neighborhood.

“I feel a mixture of fear and hope. My biggest fear is that the war will last longer that what everybody is saying because I can’t stand seeing more children, women and elderly hurt and killed.

“But fear all around the Palestinian community has been replaced by courage and hope despite of all the destruction and bombings. Some people have lost their homes and some or even all of their family members, but they know that patience and tenacity are the road to salvation.”
