Distribution to displaced families tomorrow
January 8, 2009
Mercy Corps plans to distribute blankets, mattresses, pillows, and powdered milk to 100 families newly displaced to UN refugee camps in Jabaliya and Rafah tomorrow. Field staff says items were bought within Gaza on credit (there's a shortage of cash). Prices are high because of low supply. Mercy Corps staff will oversee the distribution, which they hope to be able to do during tomorrow's three-hour ceasefire (1 p.m. - 4 p.m. local time).
