Michael Stipe Joins with Cartier to Show Some LOVE

As Cartier launches its new LOVE collection this week, the jewelry icon has partnered with some of America's best-known artists to raise money for several top charities.

To recognize R.E.M frontman Michael Stipe and his charitable efforts towards Mercy Corps, Cartier will donate $75,000 and a portion of LOVE bracelet sales proceeds to the agency's Gulf Coast recovery program. Love symbolizes commitment in many ways and Cartier is excited to support Michael Stipe's commitment to Mercy Corps through this partnership.

"Through their generosity, Cartier and Michael Stipe are truly showing love for the people of the Gulf Coast," said Mercy Corps President Nancy Lindborg. "The people of hurricane-affected areas are working hard to rebuild their lives, and this love and compassion is more important than ever."

The LOVE bracelet project is just the latest of Stipe's efforts to support Mercy Corps' work on the Gulf Coast. Earlier this year, he decided to donate all proceeds from his EP "Into the Sun" to the agency's Gulf Coast Recovery Fund. So far, "Into the Sun" has generated more than $100,000 for Gulf recovery programs.
